Who We Are

Team RUSH is committed to improving and fortifying math and science education while offering its team members an opportunity to develop a fundamental understanding of respect, team unity, competitive spirit, and the gracious professionalism that is the heart of every successful venture. Team RUSH has an uncompromised focus on positive moral values, and uses that focus to reach out to its community, create world-class design process, mold future leaders, build competitive robots, and most importantly...have fun!

Team RUSH is a group of students from Clarkston High School and CSMTech Academy who in partnership with mentors, educators, community, corporate supporters, and parents gain knowledge and important life skills. Members of Team RUSH have enthusiasm for science, technology, and engineering; as well as a growing thirst for knowledge. The students and mentors are dedicated year-round to the goals of the team. The members of our team show Respect, Unity, Spirit, and Heart everywhere they go. When it comes time for our members to graduate, it is often hard for them to let go; the team becomes a second family. Upon leaving, it is difficult for the alumni not to come back and help the team; they often provide us with mentoring, sponsorships, and much appreciated financial aid.

RUSH SUSTAINABILITY: In order to sustain life, you need air, food and water. These are the three ingredients to our sustainability ... metaphorically. The water is our sponsorship and financial support. We have grown from the "one sponsor" model through the years to a more diverse "network" of sponsors. This has given us some security when times are hard and sponsors need to step down. With a network, we are able to fill smaller holes with much more ease than the "one sponsor" of the past.
The food is our members; the people on this team "feed" each other with their own strength to continue. This is especially seen through our alumni who continue to come back and support the team, reinvigorating our members - giving them life and enthusiasm especially during these hard times.
The air is our belief system, core mission and vision ... Respect, Unity, Spirit, Heart ... it is what we all believe and continue to strive towards. Team RUSH spends a tremendous amount of time instilling the core values in their members, starting with the retreat through our countless training sessions on what the team is "all about" - to work as "one". Every student and mentor on the team works diligently to make this a better world - through mentoring others and doing "good things". This can be seen through our summer camps, community presentations and parades, to communicating with policy makers, to the efforts in starting and supporting other FLL and FRC teams.

Team RUSH has sustained many storms over the past 13 years - allowing us a new opportunity for growth. Each year, we analyze who we are and begin again - continuing to learn from our mistakes and continuing to learn and grow. Team RUSH is a life changing experience ... Team RUSH is FIRST.
