On September 26, 2009 Team RUSH hosted its annual FLL Rookie Mentor Camp. At this event every year Team RUSH students help explain the game and the basics of robot design and programming to students on rookie FLL teams. At the same time Team RUSH mentors share secrets of competitions and of running an FLL team to the FLL Team coaches. Teams leave equipped with everything they need to succeed in the competition that year. This year, we had a special appearance from Mr. Dan Maggio - director of FLL for the State of Michigan.
For the second year in a row, Team RUSH has initiated a FLL Rookie Mentor Camp. This year, we were able to host over 30 people (representing over 15 teams state wide). Our rookie camp takes the mentor from gathering a team to the field to working on the judging and competition. This year, we were lucky enough to get Mr. Douglas Hughes to present on the game. Douglas was the 2007 FLL Michigan Champion Coach. The FLL Rookie Mentor Camp is a fabulous experience for first timers!
